Check .au domain eligibility

DomainShield

Important information - .au eligibility disclaimer

This page is an automated assessment tool designed to help you understand whether a .au domain may be affected by proposed changes to the .au Licensing Rules. It is not legal advice and is not an official auDA eligibility or licensing register.

DomainShield is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by auDA, ASIC, the Australian Business Register or the Australian Government.

Recommendation 2 of the 2025 .au Licensing Rules Review has been approved in principle, but is not yet in force. The proposed changes are still subject to implementation arrangements, so these results do not mean that a domain is currently ineligible or will be cancelled on a particular date.

This assessment compares the domain name with the Registrant and Eligibility Name shown on the public .au record. It does not confirm legal ownership or provide a definitive determination of eligibility. It may also not identify a qualifying ASIC business name, Australian trade mark or other entitlement if that information is not reflected in the public .au record.

If your domain is flagged, don't panic. A flagged result means the domain may require further review under the proposed rules. It does not mean you need to cancel, replace or re-register the domain today.
